Godzilla: King of the Monsters won’t be arriving into theaters until May 2019, but we already know what its rating will be.
The highly anticipated sequel has been certified by the Motion Picture Association of America, or MPAA for short, with a PG-13 rating. That’s par for the course for big, budget blockbuster movies. The description the MPAA gave as its reasoning for the rating was for “sequences of monster action violence and destruction, and for some language.”
There’s not much to go on from the rating or the description, but at the very least we can rest assured the movie will contain “monster action violence.” Hopefully it’s more than we got from the first Godzilla movie.
The last time we received any news from Godzilla: King of the Monsters was when its epic first trailer was released during San Diego Comic-Con. Set to Debussy’s “Clair De Lune,” the trailer hit all the right notes, brilliantly teasing the first appearances of King Ghidorah, Rodan and Mothra.
