Aquaman Poster Shows Off the Majesty of the Ocean

The prodigal son has returned, and he’s got some dangerous friends on his side.

Warner Bros. this week revealed the first poster for Aquaman, with the titular character (played by Jason Momoa) comfortably sitting in the depths of the ocean. And he isn’t alone—he’s backed up by hundreds of sea creatures, including sharks, whales and turtles.

They all seem to be uniting for something, but we don’t know what. Either way, Momoa’s Aquaman looks like he’s having as much fun as he did in Justice League, which gave us a very brief look at the hero’s underwater domain.

The upcoming film will give audiences a deeper look at Aquaman’s home, where he becomes a reluctant rules caught between the surface and the ocean he calls him. Below is the movie’s official synopsis:

Following the events of Justice League, Arthur Curry, the reluctant ruler of the underwater kingdom of Atlantis, is caught in a battle between surface dwellers that threaten his oceans and his own people, who are ready to lash out and invade the surface.

We’ll get our first look at Aquaman in action when the first trailer is released later this week. Aquaman is scheduled to hit theaters on December 21.
