For the 20th time since the Marvel Cinematic Universe came into being, it has scored the top spot at the box office with one of films opening.
Ant-Man and the Wasp took the top spot with its opening weekend to take in $76M in the U.S. Combined with its foreign box office total it has already hit $161M global.
Second place went to Incredibles 2 with $29.02M. It has now achieved the highest gross ever in the U.S. for an animated movie with a domestic total of $504.38M. Globally it sites at $772.78M.
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom earned $28.58M in its third weekend, to bring its domestic total to $333.34M. Combined with the foreign box office, it now sits at $1.058B globally off of a $170M budget.
Fourth place went to The First Purge with $17.15M. Thanks to its early opening on July 4 it already sits at $31M off of a $13M budget.
Sicario: Day of the Soldado rounded out the top five with $7.3M. It now sits at $35.3M off of a $35M budget.
This week will see the releases of Hotel Transylvania 3 and Skyscraper.
