While nothing has been announced as of yet, the latest news for Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation makes a fourth film pretty much a no-brainer now.
Sony’s third Hotel Transylvania has hit a new record for Sony. As of Friday the film had hit a global total of $476.3M bringing the entire franchise to $1.3B. The majority of the haul has come from the international box office which has taken in $316M. In the United States, it took in $160.3M, off about six percent from the second installment.
Latin America accounted for a lot of the numbers where the film is now the second biggest ever for Sony, topped only by Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle.
The film is estimated to have had an $80M. With marketing usually accounting for double that, it looks like the film may have all told run around $160M meaning it comfortably made a profit.
All we’re missing now is for another sequel to be announced. It seems like only a matter of time at this point.
