IT Chapter 2 scares up a win at the box office

It would seem that not everyone was super anxious to finish off the latest Stephen King adaptation.

It: Chapter Two came in with $91M falling well short of the $123M of the first film’s opening. Globally it took in $185M.

Second place this weekend went to Angel Has Fallen with $6M for a new domestic total of $53.46M off of a $40M budget.

Good Boys took third place with $5.39M for a new domestic total of $66.84M off of a $20M budget. Globally it sits at $82.44M.

Fourth place went to The Lion King with $4.19M at the U.S. box office bringing its domestic total to $529.1M. It has taken in $1.069B at the foreign box office for a global total of $1.599B.

Overcomer rounded out the top five with $3.75M for a new domestic total of $24.7M off of a $5M budget.

This week’s wide release will be The Goldfinch and Hustlers.
