Legendary’s Godzilla vs. Kong mashup is continuing to flesh out its cast with the addition of a big new piece.
Actor Alexander Skarsgard (The Legend of Tarzan) has joined the cast. The movie will put together two of the most iconic big screen legends—Godzilla and King Kong—and see them duke it out. Skarsgard joins a cast that already includes Millie Bobby Brown and Kyle Chandler. It still remains unclear what role Skarsgard will portray in the movie.
Adam Wingard is directing Godzilla vs. Kong while Terry Rossio is penning the script. The plot of the movie will center around Godzilla finally battling King Kong in a climactic chapter in Warner Bros.’ MonsterVerse.
Godzilla already got one standalone movie with Gareth Edwards’s Godzilla and so did King Kong in Kong: Skull Island. Godzilla is getting another film next year with Godzilla: King of Monsters, which will see him battle some of his greatest foes in King Ghidorah, Mothra and Rodan.
After that he’ll move on to battle King Kong in what should be an epic bout. Godzilla vs. Kong is slated to arrive in theaters May 22, 2020.
