If you’ve been sitting at home thinking, “Why isn’t there an animated series where Elvis Presley is a spy?”, then today is your lucky day.
Netflix has announced that it is working on a series entitled Agent King that will follow the adventures of Elvis as a secret spy for the government, while also still being the King of Rock N’ Roll. And, no, you aren’t the only one who thinks this sounds vaguely like Hannah Montana.
The series counts Priscilla Presley and John Eddie as co-creators and executive producers and will be a Sony production. Mike Arnold (Archer) will serve as showrunner.
“From the time Elvis was a young boy he always dreamed of being the superhero fighting crime and saving the world!” said Priscilla Presley, Elvis’ ex-wife. “Agent King lets him do just that. My co-creator John Eddie and I are so excited to be working with Netflix and Sony Animation on this amazing project and getting the chance to show the world an Elvis they haven’t seen before.”
No word as of yet on a release date for Agent King.
