Chris Evans Joins New Murder-Mystery From The Last Jedi Director

The same day Chris Evans indicated he was done being a superhero, a report claims he’s already moving on to a new project. Deadline’s sources say Evans has joined Daniel Craig in a murder-mystery called Knives Out, which is being directed by The Last Jedi’s Rian Johnson.

This will be Johnson’s last project before moving on to a new Star Wars trilogy. Meanwhile, this will be Craig’s final project before moving on to Bond 25, a project that recently nabbed a new director.

As for Knives Out’s plot, no details have officially been revealed. However, Deadline’s sources claim it’s a “modern day murder mystery in the classic whodunit style.”

For fans of Evans who primarily know him as the first Avenger, Knives Out will be a stark departure in tone, especially since his non-Avengers films tend toward the independent.

Before Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Johnson became famous for writing and directing movies like Brick, The Brothers Bloom, and Looper, all of which earned critical and commercial acclaim. With Knives Out said to be a murder-mystery, it may be more of his style.
