Charlie’s Angels first images finally released

Things have been fairly quiet when it comes to the upcoming Charlie’s Angels reboot, but at last Sony Pictures has released some photos from the film.

Here’s the official description of the film included with the photos.

Elizabeth Banks directs the next generation of Angels – Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott, and Ella Balinska – working for the mysterious Charles Townsend. Charlie’s Angels have always provided security and investigative skills to private clients, and now the Townsend Agency has expanded internationally, with the smartest, most fearless, most highly trained women all over the globe – multiple teams of Angels guided by multiple Bosleys taking on the toughest jobs across the world.  When a young systems engineer blows the whistle on a dangerous technology, these Angels are called into action, putting their lives on the line to protect us all. The screenplay is by Elizabeth Banks from a story by Evan Spiliotopoulos and David Auburn.

It’s certainly a different take on the property.

Originally a TV series that ran from 1976 to 1981, the story followed various women that worked out of one detective agency as opposed to multiple teams. It was then rebooted as a movie in 2000, and a sequel, Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle, in 2003. There was then a television revival in 2011 on ABC that lasted for one season.

It’ll be interesting to see how this new angle plays with audiences, and it certainly leaves it open for multiple films.

Charlie’s Angels will hit theaters on Nov. 15.
