Halloween took in a healthy $77.5M in the U.S. and a further $14.3M at the foreign markets for $91.8M off of a $10M budget. This marked the second biggest U.S. opening for October, coming in just $3M shy of Venom which set the record just a few weeks ago. Rumor is that talks had begun even before this film was out, so expect it to be happening for sure now.
Second place went to A Star is Born with $19.3M, bringing its domestic total to $126.37M. Globally it sits at $201M off of a $36M budget.
Venom took third place this weekend with $18.1M. Domestically it has hit $171.12M and globally it sits at $461.82M off of a $100M budget.
Fourth place went to Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween with $9.71M with a new domestic total of $28.8M and globally has hit $39.9M off of a $35M budget.
First Man rounded out the top five with $8.56M for a new domestic total of $29.99M off of a $59M budget.
