Uncharted news teased by Nathan Fillion for next week

by Eric Frederiksen | July 13, 2018July 13, 2018 9:30 am EDT

Actor Nathan Fillion has long been a favorite among fans of the Uncharted games to portray protagonist Nathan Drake in a live-action movie. While an Uncharted movie has been in the works for some time, Fillion has never been attached to it. Now, Fillion is teasing something Uncharted-related, but Variety is saying it has nothing to do with that seemingly-stalled live-action movie.

The first tease from Fillion came on Thursday:

Sic Parvis Magna. 7/16/18

The caption, ‘sic parvis magna,’ is a quote from explorer Sir Francis Drake and plays a significant role in the Uncharted games, while the picture is of the rapper Drake – same-named as said explorer and the game’s main character.

The next came on Thursday and is a lot more direct, featuring a map and old-looking documents – like something right out of an Uncharted loading screen. It features the same date of 7/16/18 – this Monday.

If it is indeed not movie-related, it’s anyone’s guess what it is. With developer Naughty Dog focused full-steam on The Last of Us Part II, it seems unlikely it’s more game. Could it be some kind of animated feature? An audio book? It’s hard to say. But with Fillion being so vague, the replies on these posts are absolutely breathless with hope. It’d be awesome to see Fillion step into the role in a live-action film, but that seems very unlikely at this point.

We’ll find out just what it is Nathan Fillion and Nathan Drake are meeting for on Monday, July 16.
