Harrison Ford is out on the promotional circuit for The Secret Life of Pets 2 in which he voices Rooster. As he is stopping by the various chat shows he is being asked about the various iconic characters he has portrayed. It seems that there is at least one of them he feels no one else can ever play.
Appearing on Today on Friday morning, Ford was asked who should play Indiana Jones after he has exited the role. “Nobody else is going to be Indiana Jones! Don’t you get it? I’m Indiana Jones,” said Ford. “When I’m gone, he’s gone. It’s easy.”
Ford was laughing as he said it, but you imagine there was at least a slight hint of reality to his thought process.
Chriss Pratt (Guardians of the Galaxy) has been rumored for some time to take over the role, but Ford added, “This is a hell of a way to tell Chris Pine this. I’m Sorry, man.” Pine, of course, is one of the numerous ‘Chrises’ in Hollywood right now and will be appearing in Wonder Woman 1984.
Will anyone else ever play Indiana Jones? Not in the immediate future. Currently, Ford and Steven Spielberg are supposed to be preparing a fifth film following the exploits of the archeologist.
The Secret Life of Pets 2 hits theaters on June 7.
