Tokyo Gameworks and its leader Shinji Mikami are known for survival horror games, but at this year’s Bethesda E3 showcase, they revealed their newest game. It’s definitely horror, but the team says its a step away from the survival side of things. Here’s our first look at Ghostwire Tokyo.
A rapture even of some kind has people all over Tokyo disappearing. And now, ghosts cropping up all over, many of them the traditional Japanese ghosts of legend. It’s up to your character to stop them in what Tango Gameworks is calling its new action-adventure game. Here’s the official description:
After strange disappearances hit Tokyo’s population, it’s up to you to uncover the source and purge the city of a strange, new evil. Armed with your own mysterious spectral abilities, you will face down the occult, unravel conspiracy theories and experience urban legends like never before.
Don’t fear the unknown. Attack it.
Tango isn’t talking yet about platforms or release date, and the above trailer doesn’t show any gameplay. But it’s exciting to see Tango making something new – and different.
