The studio behind Netlflix’s popular Castlevania series isn’t messing around. Season 2 is returning this Halloween with a series littered with corpses and violence as Dracula wages his war against humanity.
And after teasing us with Alucard at the end of Season 1, we finally get to see the son of Dracula in action, living up to the hype. His starring role in Casltevania: Symphony of the Night solidified his legacy among Casltevania fans back in 1997, and now, the rest of the world can finally catch up on the iconic character.
Joining Alucard on his mission to save the world from the Prince of Darkness are Trevor Belmont and Sypha, characters from the NES classic Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse. Although the series has failed to include the fourth member of the fighting team from way back when, their modern-day interpretations have gone down well with fans.
It’s been an age and an age since Konami produced a Castlevania video game, let alone developed one in-house in the vein of the classic series. I doubt the popularity of the Netflix show will inspire the developers to kick off the rust for anything more than a Pachinko machine, but what I wouldn’t give for a proper romp with the Belmonts once again…
Looks like Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night will just have to do.
