Avengers: Infinity War Featured Captain Marvel Easter Egg That We All Missed

While Captain Marvel didn’t make her long-awaited debut in Avengers: Infinity War, the movie addressed her existence with a rousing post-credits scene. Turns out, her existence was also teased in an earlier scene, and we all missed it.

As pointed out by Reddit user Junt4, the cloth worn by Cull Obsidian during the Black Order’s invasion of New York looks suspiciously like a reference to Captain Marvel. The cloth features a red, blue, and gold design, which are the same colors famously worn by the superhero.

It’s unlikely Obsidian was wearing the sash to make a fashion statement; it doesn’t exactly compliment his black armor or otherwise grumpy demeanor. (Is he wearing it because he’s Captain Marvel’s biggest fan?)

More likely, Obsidian was wearing the sash as a trophy, indicating he (and the Black Order) had a previous encounter with the superhero out in the cosmos. If true, it begs the question: Could the Black Order show up in Captain Marvel’s solo movie?

Captain Marvel’s solo film will take place in the ‘90s, well before the events of Avengers: Infinity War, making a previously encounter very likely. Frankly, we’d love to see how Marvel connects the two when Captain Marvel hits theaters early next year.
