DC is reveling in the critical and financial success of Aquaman and it hopes to continue that success in 2019. One of the projects that’s going to be instrumental in ensuring that success is Todd Phillips’ Joker, which just wrapped production.
After the topsy turvy ride of the DCEU, Warner Bros. decided to start fresh with some standalone movies set within the DC world. Joker is the first of these movies, an exploration of the famed Batman antagonist.
The project has been shooting in New York City over the past few months and Phillips has been posting pictures over the course of the production, giving us a look at Joaquin Phoenix as the famed villain. His latest update revealed principal photography on the project has wrapped.
Now Phillips and crew will turn to editing the film before it arrives in theaters in October. As is common in big Hollywood productions, the film will likely undergo reshoots before its release.
