A new Star Wars book has hit Kickstarter, and it’s crying out to our geek hearts.
An interesting Kickstarter crossed our radar recently. A new company called Blue Milk (we’re sure you get the reference) is running a campaign for a new book. While not unusual in and of itself, the team behind the book is. Derryl DePriest was a Vice President at Hasbro for just shy of 18 years, and now he is the lead author on this authoritative guide. He will be joined by co-authors D Martin Myatt and Rich Alot.
Star Wars The Vintage Collection Archive Edition Book is the first book from Blue Milk. This massive tome is going to catalog all of the Vintage Collection figures from the original 2012 – 2012 run of figures, and all of the figures in the 2018 and 2019 production runs. Along with photos of the items, and details on variants, the book will include interviews with original design team members about the pieces they worked on.
Kickstarter projects are always a risky thing to write up, but with the team assembled behind this project, we have little doubt we will see this arriving in our mailboxes in a timely fashion. With just under a month to go, it blew through its goal in no time and is now on its second set of stretch goals. The next stretch goal has us particularly excited as former Kenner photographer Kim Simmons will recreate some of his iconic photography from the Kenner line using the Vintage Collection releases. We can’t wait to see that.
