Paramount Pictures released the first trailer for Rocketman, the biographical film based on the life of Elton John, on Monday, and it’s a trip.
At the end of the trailer, we’re informed that it Rocketman is “based on a true fantasy.” Seeing as we see synchronized dancing in the street and a floating audience, as well as Elton (Taron Egerton) lifting up at one point, it wasn’t too difficult to reach the conclusion this isn’t a completely true-to-life biography.
Rocketman is an epic musical fantasy about the uncensored human story of Sir Elton John’s breakthrough years, starring Taron Egerton, Jamie Bell, Richard Madden and Bryce Dallas Howard.
Rocketman will hit theaters in Summer 2019.
