A Quiet Place 2 moves up its release date

Paramount Pictures has announced that it is moving A Quiet Place 2 by two months. The original release date was May 15, 2020, but now you can expect to see it in theaters on March 20, 2020.

The original A Quiet Place hit theaters in April 2018 and went on to take in $188M in the U.S. and $152.91M foreign for a global total of $340.93M off of a $17M budget.

There has been some confusion as to what the plot of  A Quiet Place 2 might be. Originally it was said it would not be a direct sequel and would focus on another family dealing with the alien invasion. However, John Krasinski- writer, director, and star of the original –  later stated that his wife Emily Blunt would be reprising her role in the second film, and she would be joined again by the child actors Millicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe.

Cillian Murphy is reportedly also joining the cast as “a man with mysterious intentions who joins the family unit.”

With only 10 months until the release date, one imagines production will be starting pretty quickly, and hopefully, we’ll get more details sooner rather than later.

A Quiet Place 2 hits theaters on March 20, 2020.
