Mattel at Toy Fair 2020: Masters of the Universe returns

by Sean P. Aune | February 25, 2020February 25, 2020 10:30 am EST

After years and years of waiting, Mattel is returning to Eternia for a new line of Masters of the Universe toys. And boy are they doing it right.

This fall you will find the following good guy figures on the shelves

  • He-Man
  • Teela
  • Man-at-Arms
  • Orko
  • Man-E-Faces

On the bad guy side, you will find

  • Skeletor
  • Evil Lyn
  • Trapjaw
  • Scare Glow
  • Beast Man

Prince Adam will be included with the Sky Sled vehicle, and Battle Cat will be sold on his own.

The major change for this new iteration of the line is the addition of elbow hinges for added possibility.

The figures won’t be the only Masters of the Universe items on the shelves. They will be joined by Eternia Minis which will be a blind box item that has all of your favorite characters in a miniature form.

And for added fun, the packages are either in a miniature form of Castle Grayskull or Snake Mountain.

The final way you’ll be able to join the battle of Eternia is via Mega Construx. This isn’t the first year the construction system has featured the Masters of the Universe, but it’s sure to get a bit more notice now with a larger overall line.

Masters of the Universe is one of those properties that has always seemed ripe for a revival, so we’re glad to see it happening. For nostalgia, we’re glad it’s even keeping the original packaging, but how will that play with today’s kids? We’ll just have to wait and see.

Masters of the Universe will be on shelves this fall.
