The most mysterious figure in the history of Masters of the Universe, Wun-Dar, is getting the Mattel Creations treatment.
Every so often a toy line has an odd figure that shows up in collections. In the 1990s a brown-haired version of He-Man began appearing with the launch of eBay that also included unexpected accessories. One of the first assumptions was that he was part of a promotion with Wonder Bread, and that led to fans finally coming to call him “Wun-Dar.”
Years later the mystery was solved and it turned out he was a mail-in figure. If you bought three figures and mailed in the proof, you would receive a savage version of He-Man. Despite the clearing up of the mystery, fans are still fascinated by Wun-Dar, and he even made it into the recent Masters of the Universe: Revelations animated series.
Now he’s coming to the Origins toy line courtesy of the Mattel Creations site.
An ancient hero returns! 100 years before Prince Adam was born, Wun-Dar saved the Goddess of Eternia and became one of the first Defenders of Castle Grayskull. This character was a rare promotional figure released in the 80’s. We’re bringing him back as the newest figure in our MOTU Origins line. For savage battle-worthy displays, this Wun-Dar collector figure is articulated and comes with weapon accessories to protect the secrets of Castle Grayskull.
