The LEGO booth at Toy Fair is always a fun time. Seeing that many sets in one place just sets your mind racing to all of the possibilities coming down the pike.
The series we’re most excited for this year is the Hidden Side. Even beyond the AR app aspect of this, these are some great looking sets with fun ‘haunted’ elements to them. Each set will have ‘hidden’ elements to them that allow you to transform them from everyday buildings and vehicles to something else.
The centerpiece of the series is clearly the school, and it’s awesome from every side. We still don’t know how much it’s going to cost, but we know it’s not going to be cheap.
Video games are always a fun category for LEGO because the company can make just about anything come to life. Especially Minecraft which seems like a match made in heaven, to now titles like Overwatch. The possibilities are pretty much limitless when it comes to LEGO in these types of topics.
Spider-Man is always a fun license for LEGO. While no sets were on display for Spider-Man Far From Home, the company still had a few to show off that are just random, fun sets.
LEGO is celebrating the 20th anniversary of releasing Star Wars sets, and you can expect a ton of them throughout this year. And with Episode IX and The Mandalorian coming, that seems like a given.
Ninjago is a line that just keeps on giving for LEGO.
And believe me, when you see the four-headed Ultra Dragon in person, you won’t be able to open your wallet quickly enough.
LEGO only displayed the first half of the year at Toy Fair, so one has to wonder what other surprises are in store for us in the holiday season.
