Diamond Select at Toy Fair: Something for everyone

Diamond Select upped its game even more than usual this year at Toy Fair. Just before the show kicked off it announced that it had acquired portions of Gentle Giant, so it had even more new product to show off than usual, and we can’t wait to see what is coming down the line.

The company had a large selection of products that were already announced, but just now shipping, and previously unannounced items. We did the only sensible thing and took a photo of every product in the booth.

First off, everything coming out across the various lines for Marvel.

DC is firing on all cylinders with so many mediums to pull from for products. Diamond just has an embarrassment of riches.

Particular standouts were the Killing Joke from the hall of mirrors, and the Batgirl from the Elseworlds crossover on Arrow.

Lots of new products are on the way for Castlevania, but it was Godzilla that caught our eye. You can display Godzilla and King Ghidorah on their own, or you can pop off one of Ghidorah’s heads and place Godzilla there, then replacing the missing head and you get a wrapped up fight between the two kaiju.

The Sonic dioramas were prototypes, and we were bit bummed they would be slightly smaller when released. We liked these larger pieces.

And what’s a year without a whole lot more Nightmare Before Christmas on the way?

Wrapping things up at Diamond were upcoming figures for John Wick and Westworld. Final touches are being put on everything, but they all looked great.

It looks as though it’s going to be a huge year for Diamond, and with Gentle Giant adding to the product mix it’s certainly going to be a busy one.
