Freeform has pulled the plug on Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger after two seasons of the series.

It has been five months since Cloak & Dagger season 2 ended, and Freeform has finally made it official that the series has come to an end as the contract options expired on the cast.

“We are so proud of Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger and the trailblazing stories this series told,” Freeform said in a statement to Deadline. “We are also grateful to our incredible talent Oliva Holt and Aubrey Joseph for bringing these beloved characters to life, and showrunner Joe Pokaski for his vision. We’d like to thank our partners at Marvel Television for a wonderful two seasons and are we are hopeful that we can find another project together.”

The cancelation comes as Jeph Loeb is poised to depart Marvel TV. Kevin Feige is stepping up to take over as the creative office of all things at Marvel, so it isn’t too surprising to see some shakeout happening.

Tandy & Tyrone have one more appearance left in them as they will appear in season 3 of Marvel’s The Runaways on Hulu. Beyond that, we would expect the characters will be rested for some time before any new projects are announced involving them.
