Kevin Feige adding Marvel Chief Creative Officer to his resume

Kevin Feige is adding more responsibilities to his plate and will now be the overall Marvel Chief Creative Officer.

There has been an odd disconnect inside of Marvel for some time now where the TV and film divisions didn’t talk as much as you might think. Marvel Entertainment has been headed up by Ike Perlmutter and handled the TV side of things as well as publishing. Under Perlmutter is Dan Buckley who coordinates everything non-film and reports to Perlmutter. On the film side you had Feige heading up things at Marvel Studios, and not talking to anyone at Entertainment.

According to a new report from Deadline, that is in the process of changing. Buckley will continue to report to Perlmutter for publishing, licensing and so on. However, he will now report to Feige for anything related to TV and Feige will be the overall head of storytelling going forward.

Perlmutter will still be involved, but ultimately, Feige will have a lot more say in the overall direction of Marvel moving forward.

So long as TV and film are truly on the same page moving forward, we’ll be thrilled. It has always been promised, but it has always been a bit of a letdown. Hopefully, all of this will now come together more coherently.
