Before Captain Marvel makes her long-awaited debut on the big screen, Marvel plans to release a comic book prelude centered on Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury. The comic promises to shed light on what both Fury and Maria Hill were doing before Thanos’ infamous snap.

According to Marvel, the 32-page oneshot will spin out of Avengers: Infinity War:

Before Carol Danvers takes flight in 2019’s first Marvel Studios film, immerse yourself in this all-new adventure! Spinning out of the mysterious events of Avengers: Infinity War, Nick Fury and Maria Hill set off on life-or-death missions that lead directly to the appearance of Captain Marvel!

Fans who have seen Avengers: Infinity War already know that Fury has a link to Captain Marvel—after all, he called the superhero before disappearing into dust. But how did their connection begin?

We’ll get the answer to that when Captain Marvel hits theaters next March. In the movie, which takes place in the ‘90s, long before Thano’s snap, fans will see a much younger Nick Fury (with two good eyes) meet Danvers for the first time.

The Captain Marvel prelude is set to be released this November.
