It would seem that not everyone was super anxious to finish off the latest Stephen King adaptation.
It: Chapter Two came in with $40.73M to take first place. Domestically it now sits at $153.8M, and $323.3M globally.
Second place this weekend went to the opening of Hustlers with $33.23M off of a $20M budget.
Angel Has Fallen landed in third place with $4.4M for a new domestic total of $60.38M off of a $40M budget.
Fourth place went to Good Boys with $4.26M for a new domestic total of $73.31M off of a $20M budget. Globally it sits at $91.61M.
Fifth place went to The Lion King with $3.55M at the U.S. box office bringing its domestic total to $533.99M. It has taken in $1.083B at the foreign box office for a global total of $1.616B.
Worth noting, The Goldfinch opened in eighth place with $2.64M. This marks the worst opening ever for a film debuting on 2,500 or more screens.
This week’s wide release will be Ad Astra, Downton Abbey, and Rambo: Last Blood.
