Battletoads returns after a 25-year hiatus, and it’ll be playable only on Microsoft’s Xbox One and Windows.
The action-packed trailer premiered during E3 2019. It features a selection of characters as well as the co-op multiplayer. While the entire game will be offered in 4K video resolution, Rare’s latest installment in this franchise stays in a 2.5D format. So it’s a mixture of next-generation and classic gameplay.
Here’s what to expect from Battletoads when it arrives on Xbox One and Windows:
Zitz, Pimple and Rash are returning at last to Morph Attack their way through an all-new action-packed adventure of choreographed chaos. Couch co-op may never be the same again.
Still no release date, though. So it doesn’t seem likely that Battletoads will be out this fall. Microsoft and Rare should be aiming for a release date that’s sometime in 2020.
