WowWee at Toy Fair: Untamed, Butt Heads, and more

by Sean P. Aune | February 28, 2019February 28, 2019 1:22 pm EST

We dropped by the WowWee booth at Toy Fair 2019, and it was not just a visual feast, but also so many sounds. I think this booth had me turning my head to figure out what a sound was I heard than any other I visited.

Kicking things off, Untamed is expanding in a few ways this year. While the usual figures are going strong, you will also be able to go big or small this year. For those of you brave enough to face him down, there will be the Legends Dragon with motorized wings and an ability to sense where it is in space so it knows whether or not it’s in flight or lunging forward in attack.

If you want something a bit smaller, however, go for the Untamed Mad Lab Minis. These figures will come with compounds such as Geoslime, Biosand, or Terraclay. And since these creatures have interchangeable parts, you can create even more hideous monsters.

Buttheads are already in stores, but more are on the way for you to torture your family members with.

Everything that WowWee can put the Baby Shark theme song in is getting it this year, it seems, and that included all sorts of new plush toys that sing and dance.

Fingerlings are still a booming business and this year the line is expanding into Narwhals.

Possibly one of the cutest items I saw during all of Toy Fair was the Pixie Belles. For these, I’ll turn to WowWee’s official description.

Pixie Belles

Pixie Belles are cute creatures that bring you love, light, and LOTS of fun movements. Empowering a true heart-to-heart connection, you and your Pixie Belles will be inseparable! Bond with your Belles – they let you know their mood based on the color of their horn – or have a dance party – with 6 different dances your Pixie Belles will never miss a beat! To activate spin time, talk out loud or clap your hands and watch your Belles spin on demand. They react to touch, motion, and sound, and include unique interchangeable tails that double as bracelets, keychains, and scrunchies, so you can bring a part of them with you wherever you go!

Available October 2019: $14.99/Ages 5+

Not mentioned here is because they work via magnets, so it’s possible to put their platform inside your shirt and attach them to the outside so then they can dance some place such your shoulder. We saw the prototype do this and it was adorable.

Wrapping things up was the S.W.A.K. (Sealed With a Kiss) line of kissable keychains that come with KissTech that detects when you kiss it. It comes in 12 different designs and makes kissing sounds as well.

All in all, it was an interesting year for WowWee, and looks like it will be a huge year for Untamed in particular.
