Prepare to venture into the all-new Galar region in Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield. Nintendo announced the new entries in the main Pokémon series during a Nintendo Direct on Wednesday.
The new games will be the first entries in the main series to be released for the Nintendo Switch. While both Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokemon: Let’s Go, Eevee! released on the Switch, neither of them were part of the main series of the popular title.
As the titles will take us to an all-new region where we will be meeting new Pokémon, it’s only natural we will have our choice of three new starters. They are:
- Grookey – Grass
- Scorbunny – Fire
- Sobble – Water
No specific release date was mentioned for Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield beyond “late 2019.” If we were to hazard a guess, however, we would suspect it will be in early November. We’ll just have to wait and see to be sure.
