Just because you win your opening weekend doesn’t mean a whole lot.
The Predator came in first this week with $24M domestically and $30.72M foreign for a global total of $54.72M off of an $88M budget. This is almost exactly the same as Predators which went on to gross $127.23M globally off of a $40M budget.
Second place went to The Nun with $18.2M. Globally it sits at $228.67M off of a $22M budget. These smaller horror films just can’t seem to be stopped.
A Simple Favor opened in third place $16M. There hasn’t been an official statement on the budget, but this seems like a weaker opening than was probably being hoped for.
Fourth place went to White Boy Rick with $8.8M off of a $29M budget.
Crazy Rich Asians rounded out the top five with $8.7M. Domestically it sits at $149.55M and globally is at $187.45M off of a $30M budget.
This week’s releases include The House With A Clock In Its Walls and Life Itself.
