It’s that time of year where animation dominates the box office.
First place this week went to The Secret Life of Pets 2 with $47.11M domestic and a global total of $97.03M off of an $80M budget.
X-Men: Dark Phoenix opened in second place with $33M, a series low for X-Men films. Globally it sits at $140M.
Third place went to Aladdin with $24.5M, bringing it to a new domestic total of $232.38M. Globally it sits at $604.88M off of a $183M budget.
Godzilla: King of the Monsters took fourth place this weekend with $15.54M. With its foreign ticket sales it sits at $292.29M off of a $170M budget.
Rocketman landed in fifth place with $14M bringing its domestic total to $50.49M. Globally it sits at $101.79 off of a $40M budget.
This week’s wide-releases will be Men in Black International and Shaft.
