Mattel has brought its iconic Barbie line to the Mega Construx brick line, and now you can build her dream world.
Announced earlier this month, Mattel has sent us two different sets to check out, and we dove into building the sets.
First up is the Malibu House, and there is something in this one for everyone. From a kitchen environment to a selfie facade, you can do a bit of everything with this set. One of the fun things is the way you can change the house around even after you’ve built it. The two wings can be folded around to make a more compact house and gives the entrance a very different feel.
At 303 pieces this set took quite a while to build, but we really liked the “Play as you Build” aspect. As each section was finished you could stop and play with just that section if you wanted. It made for a fun way to take a break between each of the sections. The kitchen is the first part you complete, and if you wanted to sit there and just play with that, there is more than enough to do to keep you entertained for a while.
With an SRP of $29.99, we found it a worthwhile purchase and we would have no issue giving this to a Barbie enthusiast this holiday season.
If you find the Malibu House more than you want to dive into, then there is also the Adventure Dreamcamper.
Priced at $19.99, this set gives you a super sturdy camper can once it’s built. The “Play as you Build” aspect is here as well, but not quite important as the set clocks in at 123 pieces.
This set was a breezy and quick build, and we enjoyed the multiple levels to the van and the option to go for a picnic with the included accessories.
And in case you are wondering, yes, the wheels do roll so you get a vehicle out of this set as well.
Both sets are fun if you’re into brick construction sets, Barbie, or both. And with the holiday season almost upon us, we can see these appealing to a lot of different people.
