Venom: Let There Be Carnage wins the weekend box office

Marvel and Sony Pictures has another hit on its hands as Venom: Let There Be Carnage scored a big win.

First place this weekend went to Venom: Let There Be Carnage with $90.1M. This came in as the highest opening weekend since the beginning of the pandemic and it came in higher than the original film. We suspect a third film will be announced in fairly short order.

The Addams Family 2 came in second with $18M.

Third place went to Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings with $6.03M. Its domestic total stands at $206.1M and a global haul of $386.9M.

The Many Saints of Newark took in $5M in its opening weekend.

Fifth place went to Dear Evan Hansen with $2.45M. This brings its domestic total to $11.8M.

The next wide release is No Time To Die.
