Mario Kart Tour will arrive on iOS and Android devices later next month.
You’ll be able to start playing Nintendo’s latest mobile game on Wednesday, September 25. The Japanese company confirmed the news in a tweet. Aside from that, Nintendo also unveiled the first gameplay trailer for Mario Kart Tour. It showcases a familiar layout in which you’re racing against others, collecting coins and setting up traps along the way. From the trailer, Mario Kart Tour does resemble its console-based predecessors.
Surprisingly, Nintendo appears to be limiting the experience to portrait mode. Most racing games are presented in landscape mode, but that won’t be the case here. So be prepared for some adjustments if you typically play racing games on your smartphone and plan on getting into Mario Kart Tour.
The game doesn’t cost anything to download and enjoy; however, Mario Kart Tour is set to include in-app purchases as well.
If you’re interested in Mario Kart Tour, it’s already open for pre-registration on iOS and Android. Both platforms will then automatically remind you to install the game upon its release.
