It seems that Godzilla is the king of the box office as well.
Godzilla: King of the Monsters took the top spot a the box office this weekend with $49.02M. With it’s foreign ticket sales it sits at $97.22M off of a $170M budget.
Second place went to Aladdin with $42.33M, bringing it to a new domestic total of $185M. Globally it sits at $445.93M off of a $183M budget.
Rocketman landed in third place with $25M. Globally it sits at $31.8 off of a $40M budget.
Fourth place went to Ma with an opening of $18.26M off of a $5M budget.
John Wick 3 took fifth place this weekend with $11.1M. Domestically it sits at $125.75M, and globally has hit $221.65M and is already the top film in the series.
This week’s wide-releases will be X-Men: Dark Phoenix and The Secret Life of Pets 2.
