Doctor Strange 2 picks up a new writer from the Loki series

There appears to be another change on the way for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

In January, Scott Derrickson stepped down from directing the second Doctor Strange film. It now appears that Sam Raimi is in talks to take over those duties, but the screenplay appears to have a new set of eyes on it.

Reportedly, Jade Bartlett has departed the project and is being replaced by the head writer on the Dinsey Plus Loki series, Michael Waldron. There’s no word if this is a page 1 rewrite, or if it’s just a punch up of what already existed. Seeing as the film is reportedly closely tied to the WandaVision series, our guess is this will just be a punchup.

It’s still not clear what went wrong with this film, but hopefully, there is still time to correct everything.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is scheduled to hit theaters on May 7, 2021. WandaVision is due to arrive on Disney Plus in December.
