Disney Plus working on new Star Wars series

It would seem that Disney Plus has a fourth Star Wars series in the works and we’re heading somewhere new in the timeline.

Disney Plus has had great success with The Mandalorian – with some rumors saying season 3 is already in the works – and there are an Obi-Wan Kenobi series and a prequel to Rogue One in the works. Now we can add a fourth series to the upcoming roster.

According to Variety, Russian Doll co-creator Leslye Headland is working on a mystery fourth series. The new series is reportedly female-centric and is based in a different part of the Star Wars timeline than any of the others.

Seeing as everything currently in development ranges from about 10 years prior to the Battle of Yavin to five years after the Battle of Endor, we’re only working within about a 20-year span. There is still a lot of ground that can be covered in the overall Star Wars history. We already have an upcoming book series for 300 years in the past during the time of the High Republic, so even there is a large gap prior to the Clone Wars.

Where will this series land? We’ll just have to wait and see, but it’s clear Disney Plus is definitely going all-in on Star Wars.
