Deadpool 2 Receiving New Footage for Rerelease

When Deadpool 2 hits theaters again this December with a PG-13 cut, you may just want to go and see it again. It seems that some entirely new footage was shot just for this release.

Co-writer Paul Wernick confirmed to /Film that Ryan Reynolds has filmed new scenes for the release. “About two months ago we were out on soundstages shooting again,” said Wernick. “Ryan was in the suit and the gang was back together, [director] Dave Leitch and Ryan and us having a great time and laughing. It comes together great so we’re super excited about it.”

There has been one potential hint to what some of the new footage may be shared by Reynolds himself.

Yes, it appears Fred Savage is recreating the famous storybook scene from The Princess Diaries. Could this be the framing device? And if it is, we’re beyond excited.

The Deadpool 2 PG-13 cut will hit theaters on Dec. 21. We don’t think we’ve ever been more intrigued by a rerelease of a film.
