It seems that NBC doesn’t want to waste any time when it comes to renewing Brooklyn Nine-Nine.
The series, which ran on Fox for five seasons, moved to NBC in 2018. It won’t debut its seventh season until Feb. 6, 2020, but it received an eighth season pickup on Thursday.
NBC has been very happy with the numbers the series pulls in. It averaged 3.2M viewers in its Live+Same Day ratings for season 6. After five full weeks, the number climbed to 6.4M, which is an impressive number in this day and age. It also does very well int he all-important 18 to 49 demographic.
With NBC losing shows such as The Good Place and Will & Grace at the end of this season, we’re sure the network was eager to lock this one down as soon as they could.
You can catch up with the first six seasons of Brooklyn Nine-Nine on Hulu.
