Birds of Prey wins its opening weekend at the box office

Not every winning weekend is a positive story, sadly.

Birds of Prey took the top spot this weekend with $33.2M. It took in $48M in the foreign markets for a total of $81.2M off of a budget of $84.5M. The Birds of Prey opening weekend was below estimates.

Second place this weekend went to Bad Boys for Life with $12M domestic for a new total of $166.32M. Its global total sits at $336.32M.

1917 took third place with $9M for a new domestic total of $132.54M. The foreign numbers are $154.8M for a global total of $287.34M.

Fourth place went to Dolittle with $6.66M for a new domestic total of $63.95M and a global total of $158.65M.

Jumanji: The Next Level landed in fifth place with $5.53M for a new domestic total of $298.46M and a global haul of $768.46M.

This week’s wide releases will be Downhill, Fantasy Island, The Photograph, Sonic the Hedgehog, and What About Love.
