Following in the footsteps of so many other conventions this year, Anime Expo has canceled its 2020 edition.

Hot on the heels of San Diego Comic-Con 2020 being canceled, Anime Expo 2020 has followed suit. The convention took to its website on Friday to make the announcement and stated that it was due to the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic.

If you held a badge for this year you will be given the option of receiving a refund or rolling it forward to Anime Expo 2021. Exhibitors and artists will also be given the option.

For those of you who booked a hotel through ConferenceDirect, your reservation is being automatically canceled. If you reserved your housing in any other fashion you will need to handle it directly.

Anime Expo 2021 will be held July 2 to 5, 2021 and will mark the 30th anniversary of the convention.
