Disney has set its sights on yet another CGI/live-action remake, and this time it’s going to be 1973’s Robin Hood.

It seems as though it’s only a matter of time now for Disney to remake all of it’s animated films as some of live-action film. While this was just the domain of theatrical releases for a long time, with the launch of Disney Plus we also got one in the form of Lady and the Tramp. Will the same magic work on a fox?

Disney has signed Carlos Lopez Estrada (Blindspotting) to direct the film while Kari Granlund will write the script. Granlund has already gone down this road having written the aforementioned Lady and the Tramp.

The project is in early development having had the deals signed prior to the coronavirus lockdowns. No potential release dates have been announced as of yet.

At this rate, Disney is going to burn through all of its animated films in the next decade or so. One has to wonder where it will move to following that day.
