Star Wars The Mandalorian to begin filming season 2 sooner than you think

It’s always good to be confident in a project, but it seems that Disney is really confident in its first live-action Star Wars series.

The new Disney Plus streaming service will launch on Nov. 12, and on that same day we’ll see the premiere of the first episode of The Mandalorian. However, a new report from Discussing Film says that season 2 will begin filming over a month earlier on Oct. 7.

This information is partially put together from the schedule for Rick Famuyiwa (Dope) who will be directing multiple episodes. He also directed some of the first season episodes of the series. Famuyiwa was also rumored to work on the Cassian Andor series, but that will be filming in the U.K. at the end of October, so he may be out of of that project now.

Jon Favreau will be returning as showrunner on the series and he is now saying that the series will explore “the idea of the darker, freakier side of Star Wars, the Mad Max aspect of Star Wars.”

It would appear that Disney Plus is just going full steam ahead with its projects and we’ll be getting a steady flow of content. With the $6.99 per month pricing, that is already shaping up to be a must-have streaming service and we can’t wait for it to get here.
