Marvel scores one of its biggest wins yet at the box office.
Coming in first, to the surprise of no one, was Captain Marvel. The film took in $69.31M domestic for a new total of $266M. The global total sits at $760.21M. Breaking the $1B barrier seems a given at this point.
Wonder Park came in second with $16M.
Third place went to Five Feet Apart with an opening of $13.15M.
How to Train Your Dragon 3 took fourth place this weekend with $9.34M. That brings it to $135.64M domestic and $466.54M global off of a $129M budget.
Fifth place went to Tyler Perry’s A Madea Family Funeral with $8M for a new domestic total of $59.06M.
This week’s wide-release will be Us. Can it climb the mountain to beat Captain Marvel? We’ll just have to see.
