The Conjuring got the Honest Trailer treatment. The horror franchise is the standard for horror movies these days, but that doesn’t mean it’s without faults. I can think of a couple points where it falters, but the Screen Junkies team came up with an entire video full of them that pokes fun at our favorite horror franchise.
The movie is fairly straightforward, revolving around Ed and Lorraine Warren, two paranormal investigators that are, as the trailer puts, two of the least funny ghostbusters. Together, they investigate odd events and circumstances that put them against some of the scariest demons imaginable.
This leads them to investigate the two challenging cases of their career, neatly fitting into The Conjuring and The Conjuring 2. Luckily, they both involve families with kids that scare easily. Plus, the Warren’s room filled with countless spin-offs assures us that the franchise will continue to grow well beyond the Warren family because there is money to be made. Annabelle already got two movies, think of how many movies The Nun will get.
James Wan, the mastermind behind the franchise, has a few staples that ensure the movie will continue to be scary moving forward, such as moving chairs, slowly walking down stairs and violently closing doors. This is just the beginning for The Conjuring universe.
