Autobots, transform and roll out… to the local movie theater to see Transformers the Movie on the big screen!
For one night only, the classic Transformers: The Movie will be making its way back to the local movie theaters. Released in 1986, this film fit into the canon of the syndicated series and featured the jaw-dropping death of – oh no, I can feel the tears already – Optimus Prime.
… I need a minute.
I’ve collected myself. The film will be a special one-night event on Thursday, Sept. 27 at 7pm local time. Tickets will go on sale via the Fathom Events website on Aug. 3, so make sure to get in there and purchase your tickets.
The film is a highlight of Transformers history for fans. Never before had anyone said, ‘we have new toys coming… lets kill all the old ones to make room for them.’ The first few portion of this film is a Transformers Gen 1 ‘blood bath,’ as we see so many of our original favorites meet their untimely ends. The remainder of the film is taken up with us seeing Megatron become Galvatron, the upstart Hot Rod ascending to become Rodimus Prime, and so much more.
If you’re never seen it, it’s a must. If you’ve only seen it on home video, we still think you should go and enjoy.
So many feels.
