It seems the truth may still be out there as Disney and Ryan Coogler are reportedly working on a reboot of The X-Files.

According to a new report from Bloomberg, Ryan Coogler – director of both Black Panther movies – is currently developing a reboot of 1990s phenomenon The X-Files. Disney acquired the rights when it purchased Fox.
The original series ran from 1993 to 2002 and spawned two films, including the unusual circumstance of one being released while the series was still on the air. There was a two-season revival that ran from 2016 to 2018, and since that time the franchise has been silent.
Little information is known about the potential new series, especially if it would have any connection to the original.
The original series followed FBI agents Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) as they investigated ‘the X-files,’ cases that the FBI has pushed down to the basement as just being too weird. This occasionally led them to deal with monsters, conspiracies, and, ultimately, a potential alien invasion.
No timeline has been stated for the project, and as with any thing this early in development, nothing may come of it.
