If you enjoy TV programs for CBS, or enjoy movies released by Paramount, it can be tempting to subscribe to Paramount Plus, but there are definitely some things to consider. Join us as we dive into the ins-and-outs of the service in our Paramount Plus review.

Content

When it comes to content on Paramount Plus, this is one of the strongest arguments for the service. From originals such as multiple different Star Trek series, to an enormous back catalog, there is a lot to enjoy here.

There is also a good selection of sports programming, with a heavy emphasis on international soccer. This is also where we discovered a drawback, however. Do not count on every match being available on-demand at a later time. For instance, during any given weekend of Scottish Premiere League matches, only one or two of them will be available at a later time.

If you’re also looking for Live TV, Paramount Plus will have you covered. From your local affiliate to live Showtime – if you subscribe to the appropriate package – are available to you.

Navigation

Despite a large library of content, Paramount Plus’ navigation always felt easy and content was found rapidly. It never feels overwhelming and is fairly straightforward, which is all you can really ask.

There is a search function if you know what you are looking for. If you just want to browse, TV, movies, sports, and Live TV are broken out, and you can then search within those alphabetically or by sub-genres.

How Much Does Paramount Plus Cost?

Paramount Plus offers a free trial for one week. Paramount Plus Essential costs $5.99 a month, or $59.99 a year. This is the ad-supported tier, and does include live CBS News, the NFL on CBS, and UEFA Champions League.

If you wish to go ad-free, then you will need the Paramount Plus with Showtime package. It includes a one-week free trial and then will cost $11.99 a month, or $119.99 a year. You will get everything in the Essential package along with no ads except on live TV and select shows. All of Showtime is included, and you can download shows to your mobile devices.

Paramount Plus Review Verdict

What’s the conclusion of our Paramount Plus review? We can see some definite arguments to be made for Paramount Plus to be a staple of your streaming subscriptions. From originals, to a vast catalog of library titles, there is a lot here to keep you entertained.

We did run into an odd situation during our test. Someone hacked our account, which was surprising as we do use unique passwords for all accounts, and also make them fairly complex. When we figured this out we immediately changed our password, but discovered there is no ‘log out all devices’ feature provided. The person still had access to our account for some time despite the change of password. Paramount Plus was not responsive to customer service requests.

Despite a few caveats, we still recommend Paramount Plus pretty highly.
