According to a new report from Vulture, multiple industry sources are saying Sony Pictures is preparing to shift Venom: Let There Be Carnage to Jan. 21, 2022. If that date looks familiar it’s because it’s the date Morbius is currently slated to release. No word on where the Living Vampire would move to as of yet.
The news is reportedly being held until after the closing of CinemaCon that is currently taking place in Las Vegas.
Venom: Let There Be Carnage only moved to its current Oct. 15, 2021 date less than two weeks ago. Originally the film was scheduled for Oct. 2, 2020, but then moved to June 25, 2021. It then moved to Sept. 17, 2021, and then eventually to Sept. 24.
This new release date is not yet official, but it seems likely that we are indeed about to see another move happen. We also don’t suspect this will be the last move we see from the fall lineup of theatrical releases.
